Non-prorated is the part that matters
Many warranties in this trade reduce what they pay as the years pass, so a failure in year eighteen is worth a fraction of the same failure in year two. Ours does not. A sealed unit that fails in year twenty-four is replaced on the same terms as one that fails in year one.
Transferring it
The warranty transfers to the next owner of the home at no cost, provided the transfer is registered within 30 days of closing. There is no fee and no inspection. It is registered from the customer account, or by calling us.
This is worth doing at the time of sale rather than later. A transferable warranty is a genuine asset on a listing, and the 30-day window is firm.

Your rights under Ontario law are separate from this
A contract signed in your home is a direct agreement under Ontario's consumer protection legislation. You may cancel it without giving a reason for ten days after receiving your written copy. The final price may not exceed a written estimate by more than 10% unless you have agreed in writing to new work or a new price.
Our own commitment is stronger than the statute: your price does not change after the technical remeasure at all, and if we miss the install date written into your contract for a reason inside our control we credit $250 per day against your balance.
